Circle Inspectors of Excise of Excise Circle OfficesCircle Inspectors are the controlling authority of the Excise Circle Office and the Supervisory controlling officer of the Range officers within the Circle. Their territorial jurisdiction extends to the revenue taluks. Their main duties and functions include:
Circle Inspectors of Excise of Enforcement & Anti Narcotic Special SquadsThey are also Abkari officers under their respective jurisdiction for the purpose of detection and investigation of cases under Abkari Act and NDPS Act. Their territorial jurisdiction extends to the revenue district of which the Excise Enforcement and Anti Narcotic Special Squads are formed coterminous with. Their main duties are enforcement of the Abkari Act, NDPS Act & Rules. These officers act under the directions of the Deputy Excise Commissioners and the superior officers. Circle Inspectors Attached to Distilleries, Breweries, Licensed Manufatories, Bonded ware houses etc.They are Abkari officers within the licensed premises in which they are appointed. They ensure proper collection of Abkari or other revenue payable under the Abkari Act, M & TP Act, NDPS Act etc, and to issue permits for the movement of liquor, intoxicating drugs or other substances regulated by the Acts and check their abuse. They shall supervise and exercise control over all the activities of the licensed premises concerned. ManagersManagers in Excise Department are officers in the rank of Circle Inspectors of Excise. Their main task is to assist the Deputy Commissioners of Excise of the Zones and the Asst. Excise Commissioners of the Divisions in the administrative work of the respective officers. they are the custodians of records in Zonal offices and Excise Division offices. SuperiententsSuperintendents in the department are officers in charge of a section in the Commissionerate of Excise or in the office of the Addl. Excise Commissioner. They may be either being a Circle Inspector of Excise or a section officer from the Government Secretariat working on deputation. Their main function is to scrutinise the files and forward the same with notes/suggestions to the officers concerned for taking decisions. |
