Additional Director General of Police Sri. S. Aananthakrishnan IPS, took charge of Excise Commissioner on the FN of 12/06/2019. He has been transferred to the ex-cadre post of the Excise Commissioner from the post of Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters).

The Additional Excise Commissioner (Enforcement) Sri. Sam Christy Daniel IPS, who has been transferred from the post of Superintendent of Police, SBCID (Security), also took change of the post.

Excise Commissioner & DGP Sri. Rishiraj Singh IPS, and Additional Excise Commissioner Sri. A. Vijayan IPS, who have been transferred from Excise Department, after a long period of service, were given farewell by the personnel of Excise Department.

Sri. Rishraj Singh IPS, being the Excise Commissioner for the past three years, brought the Department to new heights and given a new identity and diversity in the activities of the Department. During his tenure, there is a drastic improvement in the enforcement activities of Department, and he lead the awareness programmes against drug menace. Also his leadership in modernization given a facelift to the Department. He is transferred and posted as Director General of Police (Prisons).

Sri. A. Vijayan IPS, have served Excise Department for more than 6 years, initially as Vigilance Officer (Excise) and then as Additional Excise Commissioner (Enforcement). During his tenure, he extent his best efforts to the Department, not only in his delegated duties, but also in all the activities of the Department and to the welfare of the employees. He is transferred and posted as Principal, Police Training College.

Rajeev I.O.F.S., on a function organized at Excise Head Quarters, on 03/06/2019 at 10:00 AM. 41 Honda Active 5G Scooters for Women Patrolling Squads, and 7 Honda Shine Motor Bikes for Excise Check Posts were released to the offices concerned. 100 Scooters for Women Patrolling Squads and 20 Motor Bikes for Excise Check Posts had already been allotted to various offices, for strengthening facilities for enforcement activities. State level inauguration of World No Tobacco Day is done by the Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Excise, Sri. T.P. Ramakrishnan, on 31st May, 2019, in a function organized at V.J.T. Hall, Thiruvananthapuram. Prize winners of Vimukthi Short Film Competition are awarded in the function. Publication of Vimukthi Advertisement Film is done by Hon’ble Thiruvananthapuram Mayor, Sri. Excise Commissioner Sri. Rishi Raj Singh IPS, flagged off the newly purchased 9 Mahindra Bolero vehicles, in a function organized at the Excise Head Quarters, on 14/05/2019. The vehicles are allotted to the newly formed 6 Excise Circle Offices and 2 Jana Mythri Excise Squads, and one vehicle to Narcotic Enforcement Squad, Adimaly, to empower the Excise Field Offices for enforcement works.

A farewell function to the retiring officers of Excise Department is organized at Excise Head Quarters on 14/05/2019. Vigilance Officer (Excise) Sri. T. Ramachandran, Deputy Excise Commissioners S/Sri. S. Salim, A.K. Narayanankutty, P.A. Haridasan, and Assistant Excise Commissioners S/Sri. Raja Singh V., P. Babu are retiring on superannuation on 31/05/2019. Excise Commissioner Sri. Rishi Raj Singh IPS wished the retiring officers, and all the high level officers in Excise Department participated in the function.

The Vimukthi Mission conducted Malabar Marathon, on 28th April 2019, as part of its strategy to curb the menace of drug abuse by involving the society with a common moto “run against drugs”. The event was coordinated by the Excise Department, under the leadership of Excise Commissioner Sri. Rishi Raj Singh, at Vellayi Beach in Kozhikode.
