Independence Day

Excise Commissioner & ADGP Sri. S. Aananthakrishnan IPS participated in the State Level Celebrations of 73rd Independence Day, at Central Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. A platoon of Excise Personnel performed in the Independence Day Parade. Excise platoons participated in the Independence Day Parades in all the District Head Quarters also.

Lahari Vimuktha Jyothi

An awareness programme named Lahari Vimuktha Jyothi – Pratheekshayude Kaimattom, conducted at Amaravila LMS Higher Secondary School was inaugurated by the Excise Commissioner Sri. S. Aananthakrishnan IPS. The Excise Commissioner remind the need for being aware of the evil effects of the drug usage and being involved in the anti intoxication activities by the students, in a circumstance where liquor and drugs usage increasing alarmingly in the Society, and is spoiling the future generation. He also spoke about the requirement to create a new generation by coordinating the anti intoxication movements. Kerala Madhya Nirodhana Samithi President Sri. K.P. 40 Kg Ganja Seized

40 Kg Ganja, seized at Palakkad, while transporting in a Car

While Palakkad Excise Special Squad was inspecting the vehicles at Toll Plaza, based on the secret information received by the Excise Circle Inspector Sri. M. Rakesh, the WagonR Car bearing Regn.No. KL-55-W-3646 passed the toll plaza, breaking the barricade and hitting Civil Excise Officer Sri. Sreekumar. Excise Officials chased the vehicle, but the accused fled after leaving the vehicle near Maha Kaliyamman Temple at Mele Pokkamthodu. The searches for the accused with the help of local public and Cherpulassery Excise Range Party, were unsuccessful. On inspection, after the vehicle was forced open with the help of a mechanic, 40 kilo gram Ganja kept in 4 bags were found from the dickie of the car.

On the preliminary enquiry, it is revealed that the Ganja was collected from Tuni in Andhra Pradesh, transported to Tirupur by Dhanbad Express and was being transported by Car, by a gang under a habitual offender from Tirur in Malappuram District, who was accused in various Ganja Cases. CCTV footage of the accused were collected by the Excise Party.

65 Kg Ganja has been seized in 3 days, as part of the special enforcement operations “Operation Monsoon” declared by the Deputy Excise Commissioner, Palakkad. Excise Inspector Sri. T. Rajeev, Preventive Officer Sri. Lother L. Perara, Civil Excise Officers S/Sri. Johnson, Sreekumar, Shinoj, Suresh, Vishakh, Vinesh, Excise Driver Sri. Selvakumar Plackal of Palakkad Excise Special Squad, and Assistant Excise Inspector Sri. Hareesh, Preventive Officer Sri. Santhoshkumar, Civil Excise Officer Sri. K.P. Rajesh of Cherpulassery Excise Range Office were participated in the operations.

Passing Out Parade

Spirit Seized

Excise Commissioner’s State Excise Enforcement Squad led by Sri. T. Anikumar, Circle Inspector of Excise, seized 700 litres of spirit transported in an Innova car from near Parabhrahma Speciality Hospital, Oachira at 09:00 am on 08/07/2019. The team also seized an escort vehicle, Maruti Eeco Car and 4 persons were arrested. Spirit was stored in 20 cans (each of 35 litre capacity) and transported in the Innova car with intention to hand over to retail dealers in Alappuzha region. Accused arrested include Kanakarajan @ Kanakan aged 46 yrs, Balakrishnan @ Kuruvi Balakrishnan aged 52 yrs, Deepu aged 37 yrs, Rahul Suresh aged 26 yrs. Kanakarajan and Balakrishnan are natives of Tamilnadu near Kaliakkavila. Both are accused in several spirit cases and Kanakarajan is the main agent who procures the spirit from Thirunelveli and sells it in wholesale and retail across Kerala state. The case has registered at Karunagapally Range. The team includes Excise Inspectors G. Krishna Kumar, A. Pratheep Rao, K.V. Vinod, Asst. Excise Inspectors T.R. Mukesh Kumar, Manoj, Preventive Officer Madhusudhanan Nair and Civil Excise officers Subin, Shamnad, Suresh Babu, Rajesh and Krishna Prasad.

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

State level inauguration of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is done by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan on 26 th June, 2019, in a function organized at Nishagandhi Auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram. The program was jointly organised by Excise Department, Vimukthi Mission and National Service Scheme.

Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Excise, Sri. T.P. Ramakrishnan presided over the function. Hon’ble Minister for General Education, Sri. C. Raveendranath addressed the function. District Panchayat President Sri. V.K. Madhu and National Service Scheme Coordinator Sri. Jacob John wished felicitations.

Cultural programs were presented by students of various Schools in the District, and Vimukthi Short Films were exhibited in the function. Various awards for the best awareness/anti-intoxication activities were distributed in the function. More Photos>>

Hashish Oil, Ganja & Charas worth ₹ 20 crore seized

The Excise Special squad seized 20kg of hasish, 2.5 kg of ganja and 240g of charas that were hidden in a storage space created the boot of the car. T. Anikumar, Excise Circle Inspector who led the team intercepted a car that was transporting hasish oil from Banaluru, here on saturday. The accused Georgekutty of onamthuruthu in kottayam district was notorious for leading inter state gang of criminals from bengaluru.The special squad works under the direct supervision of excise commissioner Sri. S. Aanathakrishnan IPS. Beside Anikumar, excise inspectors T. R. Mukeshkumar, G. Krishnakumar, A Pradeep Rao, K.V. Vinod were also part of the team.
