The court sentenced the accused in the case of possession of drug ampoules in Cherthala.

The Alappuzha Sections Court has sentenced the first accused, Shijo, a native of Kochi Pallurutti, to 10 years and the third accused, Askaf, a native of Sultan Batheri, to 24 years of rigorous imprisonment. The second accused died. Cherthala circle inspector was T.O. Sajeev investigated the case and arrested the third accused who gave drugs to the first and second accused. Additional Public Prosecutor S A Srimon appeared for the prosecution.
Cherthala Excise Circle Office Inspector R Rajesh, Excise Inspector Sujith KP, Preventive Officers P Binesh, S Sumek, G P Radhakrishna Pillai, CEO Maraya K N Manoharan, TU Thomas Anthony KA, Sajan Joseph, C. K Rajeev, R Ravikumar and P Jagadeesan arrested the first and second accused with drugs on 22-09-2022 near Arur railway flyover.
